1. Prepare an Illustration
If you don’t have a scanner, the best way to start is by sketching out your idea on paper. Rough patterns will do when you are on the onset; you can make adjustments as you go forward with that particular design. Use a pencil to draw so you can fix the mistakes and edit according to your changing convictions. Scan your drawing and save it to the highest quality as a .JPEG or .PNG. 2. Start with an Outline
Since the sketch is the only layer in the design now, you must first create a background layer. Fill the transparent layers in the drawing with white using the fill-in tool. Create new layers for major parts like hair, face, and clothes. Outline the sketch on each layer with the brush tool. A size as small as 2 to 4 pixels will do to create the outline. All anatomy mistakes can be corrected when outlining the sketch. Fill the picture with various colors using brushes of different sizes. Make sure to use a single color for each area.
3. The Finishing Touch
If you keep adding more layers to the art, the details will look all the more appealing. But do that only if you want a certain aspect of the picture to stand out. Use the eyedropper tool to shade the drawing. Merge every layer of the drawing to create the final picture. Now all you need to do is save the file as .PNG or.JPEG before exporting it.
